Job summary

HDR seeks an experienced Federal Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex water infrastructure projects for federal agencies across the United States.

You will manage multidisciplinary teams responsible for planning, design, and construction support from inception through closeout, while building strong client relationships and supporting business development efforts. This role emphasizes governance, quality, and profitability in a dynamic federal market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and related professional experience
• 7 years related experience
• A minimum of 2 years project management experience
• Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of complex, multidisciplinary projects from planning through construction support and project closeout.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining alignment with client objectives, budget expectations, and delivery schedules.
• Build and maintain relationships with federal and military clients, serving as a trusted advisor and key point of contact.
• Support business development activities, including marketing efforts, proposal preparation, contract negotiations, and project pursuits.
• Coordinate resources and staffing across multiple disciplines to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
• Implement QA/QC procedures to ensure technical excellence and compliance with project requirements.
• Lead and mentor project teams, including coaching and developing less-experienced Project Managers and technical professionals.
