Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Federal Presales Systems Engineer to support government/National Security accounts in the Maryland, DC and Virginia region. The role requires US citizenship and TS/SCI clearance at hire and involves designing secure networking solutions across data center, campus and WAN.

You will lead technical engagements, partner with account teams, and translate customer requirements into scalable HPE Networking solutions while traveling up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of pre-sales, systems engineering, or networking experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Federal, DoD, IC, or classified customers.
• Active TS/SCI clearance at time of hire; travel up to 25%.
• Expertise in routing, switching, security, and data center networking.
• Ability to discuss networking design with technical and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-sales technical leadership for Federal/National Security customers.
• Design and position secure networking solutions across campus, WAN, data center.
• Lead customer presentations, workshops, demonstrations, and proof of concept engagements.
• Partner with Account Managers to qualify opportunities and drive technical strategy through closure.
• Build trusted advisor relationships with customer stakeholders in highly secure environments.
• Translate customer requirements into scalable HPE Networking solutions.
• Collaborate with internal engineering, services, channel, and sales teams to deliver winning solutions.
• Maintain strong competitive knowledge of networking vendors and market trends.
• Support account planning, pipeline development, and long‑term territory growth.
• Travel to customer locations as business needs require.
