Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Pre‑Sales Systems Engineer to support Federal/National Security accounts across Maryland, D.C. and Virginia. You will lead pre‑sales efforts, design secure campus/WAN/data‑center solutions, and drive engagements with customers.

This role requires US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance at hire, with up to 25% travel. You will collaborate with Account Managers, engineering, services and sales teams to translate requirements into scalable HPE

Qualifications

5+ years in pre-sales, systems engineering, or networking.
3+ years with Federal/DoD/IC or classified customers.
Active TS/SCI clearance at hire; CI Poly preferred.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Willing to travel up to 25%.
Expertise in routing, switching, security, and data center networking.
Strong knowledge of enterprise network architectures and protocols.
Ability to discuss complex tech with executives.

Responsibilities

Provide pre-sales technical leadership for strategic Federal / National Security customers.
Design and position secure networking solutions across campus, WAN, data center, and mission‑critical environments.
Lead customer presentations, workshops, demonstrations, and proof of concept engagements.
Partner with Account Managers to qualify opportunities and drive technical strategy through closure.
Build trusted advisor relationships with customer stakeholders in highly secure environments.
Translate customer requirements into scalable HPE Networking solutions.
Collaborate with internal engineering, services, channel, and sales teams to deliver winning solutions.
Maintain strong competitive knowledge of networking vendors and market trends.
Support account planning, pipeline development, and long‑term territory growth.
Travel to customer locations as business needs require.
