Nordstrom, Inc. is hiring a Designated Selling Associate in New York to drive in-store and digital sales through exceptional customer service, product knowledge, and active participation in merchandising.

The role emphasizes relationship building, brand education, and team collaboration to meet sales goals. As a DSA, you will adapt to store needs, participate in product knowledge sessions, and support a seamless customer experience across departments.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with customers to cultivate relationships
• The ability to excel in a competitive team environment
• The ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• The ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
• The ability to read sales reporting in relation to goals
• Understand how to educate customers on new and emerging brands, suggesting based on what will work for them
• Confidence with high/low price points and the ability to showcase to customers the value of the item and how it completes their entire wardrobe
• A strong understanding of customer’s holistic wardrobe and style, along with a high degree of organization, to be able to strategically follow up and advice on what they will need to complete their wardrobe
• Physical Requirements: Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
• Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, reaching for and lifting these items above the head
• Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds

Responsabilités

• Set and achieve sales goals for in-store and digital selling with selling tools and reservations
• Build lasting relationships with customers
• Provide honest and confident feedback to customers about style, fit and value
• Seek fashion and product knowledge through meetings and trainings to build expertise
• Build relationships with other DSAs, Stylists, and departments through product knowledge meetings
• Drive sales by appointment-based selling during events and non-event times
• Keep the department customer ready with stocking, re-merchandising, displays, price markdowns, merchandise transfers and cleaning
• Grow Nordstrom Rewards program accounts
• Hours and schedule for this position will vary by week depending on business needs
