Job summary

H2ajobs is seeking workers to attend to live farm and ranch animals, including cattle. Duties include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, castration, branding, catching, and loading animals; maintain records on animals; examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate; mix feed, additives, and medicines in prescribed portions.

Housing and meals are provided; weekly transportation to stores is available; transport is provided

Qualifications

• Six (6) months recent and verifiable experience required for the listed duties.
• Must be able to obtain a valid driver’s license after hire and have a clean driving record.
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Attend to live farm and ranch animals (cattle).
• Feed, water, herd, graze, castrate, brand, and load animals.
• Move livestock between locations and inspect housing facilities.
• Maintain animal records and monitor health and injuries.
• Administer medications, vaccines, or insecticides as prescribed.

Job description

Attend to live farm, ranch animals including cattle; Duties include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, castrating, branding, catching, and loading animals; Maintain records on animals; Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; Wean young; Administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate; Mix feed, additives, and medicines in prescribed portions; Drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to swath, rake, bale, hay and to distribute hay, feed to animals; Move livestock from one location to another; Clean and maintain animal housing areas; Wean and sort cattle for sale; Inspect, maintain, prepare, repair equipment, facilities, buildings, pens, yards, and fences.

• Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
• Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, all of which are in working order, including refrigeration, space for food preparation, cooking accessories and utensils, appliances, and dishwashing facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities include adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure. Employer will provide transportation once a week to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries, when the employer is providing cooking and kitchen facilities.

Experience wanted: 6 months

Six (6) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
