Job summary

H2ajobs is seeking a livestock farm laborer to care for cattle and other animals. You will feed, water, herd, and assist with births, branding, and veterinary tasks while maintaining animal records and facility upkeep. Three months of verifiable livestock experience is required.

You must be able to lift 50 lbs and may need a driver’s license after hire. Drug testing may be required by policy. Housing or public accommodations are available.

Responsibilities

• Attend to live farm and ranch animals, including cattle.
• Feed, water, herd, graze, castrate, brand, catch and load animals.
• Maintain records on animals and assist with births and health checks.
• Inspect and repair livestock facilities and related equipment.
• Move bales and operate or tend farm equipment such as tractors.

Job description

Attend to live farm, ranch animals that may include cattle; Duties include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, castrating, branding, catching, and loading animals; Maintain records on animals; Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; Assist in birth deliveries; Administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate; Clean and maintain animal housing areas; Inspect, maintain, prepare, and repair livestock facilities, buildings, pens, yards, irrigation, and fences; Move bales; Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production such as tractor for drying, raking, baling hay; Use hand tools such as t post driver, hammer, wire stretcher.

Housing: Rental or public accommodations

Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, all of which are in working order, including refrigeration, space for food preparation, cooking accessories and utensils, appliances, and dishwashing facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities include adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure. Employer will provide transportation once a week to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries, when the employer is providing cooking and kitchen facilities.

Experience wanted: 3 months

Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
