Job summary

South Dakota Board of Regents through Black Hills State University is seeking a Facility Worker to perform cleaning and basic maintenance in offices, institutional buildings and living quarters. Responsibilities include sanitizing surfaces, handling cleaning chemicals, and using ladders to access and replace lamps.

Position may involve work in residence halls, administration or classroom buildings with potential overtime and weekend hours.

Job description

Facility Worker

Black Hills State University seeks applicants for a Facility Worker position with the Department of Facilities Services.

DUTIES : Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing floors, walls, restrooms, and furniture in offices, institutional buildings, and living quarters to meet sanitary regulations and enhance the appearance of the buildings. Uses hand tools to perform general building maintenance. Works with a variety of chemicals. Uses ladders to clean windows and change lamps.

  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be self-directed
  • Experience operating buffers and scrubbers is desired
Comments

May work in residence halls, administration or classroom buildings. Some overtime and weekend work may be required. Benefits include paid health and life insurance for the employee, employer matched retirement at 6% of gross pay, and annual and sick leave.

Work hours: 6AM – 2:30PM
