Job summary

Army NAF is seeking a supervisory professional to support daily operations of the Child Development program. You will work directly with the Director, oversee staff performance, ensure safety for children, and coordinate compliance with health, safety and USDA standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and supervisory experience, plus credentials like the McCormick Credential. The incumbent may be asked to support DoD certification efforts and related accreditation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in child development, early childhood education, elementary or secondary education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education, or other fields appropriate to the position.
• 12 months experience working in group programs with children/youth, with at least 6 months in a supervisory position, plus the McCormick Credential.
• Education/proof must be directly related to the position; foreign education requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a first level supervisor for assigned staff and assist the Director in the day-to-day operation of the program. Works with the Director with minimal supervision.
• Provide program oversight and accountability for employee performance, child safety, and customer needs.
• Supervise staff including assigning work, conducting performance reviews, and approving leave; set local performance standards for staff and volunteers.
• Ensure facility compliance with health, fire, safety, USDA, and program regulatory guidance and standards; observe participants and report signs of illness or distress.
• Assist with achieving and maintaining DoD certification and national accreditation, implementing recommendations and correcting deficiencies.
