- Assure quality service in a safe, non-judgmental manner to all tenants
- Provide supportive interaction with tenants and team members
- Assess tenants' needs and support tenant safety and program integrity
- Explain program rules and regulations and facilitate tenant observance
- Provide awake shift coverage and maintain grounds security
- Conduct hourly safety and security checks
- De-escalate crises and provide emergency assistance to tenants and co-workers
- Maintain daily reports, shift logs, observation logs, and incident reports
- Perform housekeeping, janitorial, maintenance, and room-preparation tasks
- Respond to tenant questions, concerns, and lockouts
- Answer the telephone, record messages, and file documents
- Maintain clear and routine communication with tenants
- Assist VOA staff with policies and procedures and model positive behavior
- Monitor inventory and report purchasing needs
- Notify management of workflow problems and resource needs
- Communicate with on-site staff, administrators, service providers, and government program representatives

- Demonstrated ability to communicate and comprehend oral and written instructions
- Ability to provide services to tenants without ethnic or social prejudices
- General knowledge of issues and challenges unique to seniors, lower economic-status individuals, minorities, and persons with disabilities
- Ability to utilize a range of interventions to work with tenants with varying needs and levels of functioning
- Flexibility to work irregular hours
- Willingness to function as a team member
- Computer skills required
- CPR and First Aid training within ninety (90) days of employment, with re-certification as necessary
- Annual TB testing
