Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have maintained a valid US driverU+2019s license for at least six months.
• Must pass a driverU+2019s screening background check.
• Adequate insurance and a safe driving record required when using a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing treatment programs, including ISP/PSTPs and clinical programs, and participate in treatment planning.
• Maintain records, collect behavior and academic data, write progress notes, and document incidents and activities.
• Provide training and support with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, dressing, and household chores.
• Conduct and document fire and safety training.
• Monitor physical and emotional needs and report changes to the supervisor.
• Store, administer, document, and dispose of medication according to MAC requirements, regulations, and company policy.
• Attend mandated training and staff meetings; assist with orienting new staff.
• Follow corporate, divisional, safety, workerU+2019s compensation, universal precautions, and exposure-control policies.
• Perform handsU+2011on support tasks, maintain site safety, and complete housekeeping, snow shoveling, and garbage removal as needed.
• Provide transportation as necessary.
• Maintain required staffU+2011toU+2011personU+served ratios and provide lastU+minute coverage.
• Provide physical intervention and/or first aid during behavioral or medical emergencies.
• Serve as a reporter to the Disabled Persons Protections Commission.
• Remain awake, alert, and dressed throughout the entire overnight shift.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Ability to assist clients with activities of daily living.
• Ability to operate a computer and office equipment.
• Ability to speak, hear, and communicate with clients, staff, and external representatives.
• Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, plus ability to adjust focus.
• CPR certification required within two weeks of hire.
• First Aid certification required within two weeks of hire.
• MAC certification required under Connecticut guidelines.
• Safety Care certification required within 60 days of hire.
• Knowledge of communication styles, empowerment and self-advocacy, participatory planning, crisis intervention, advocacy, physical personal management, and household management techniques.
• Teaching skills and ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Sensitivity to cultural, religious, racial, disability, and gender issues.
• Must remain awake and alert throughout the entire shift.

Demonstrates expertise in implementing treatment programs, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing support for activities of daily living. Proficient in crisis intervention, medication management, and compliance with safety regulations.
