Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to lead a team ensuring a safe, well-maintained store environment in Salt Lake City. You will support the Facility Manager, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot HVAC and building systems, and coordinate with vendors and contractors.

The role emphasizes safety compliance, proper documentation in CMMS, and hands-on repairs across electrical, mechanical, and plumbing disciplines. Strong communication and scheduling flexibility are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Associates degree preferred.
• 5-7 years hands-on facilities experience.
• 5+ years in HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical work.
• Experience with CMMS and parts procurement systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot low voltage signals and electrical/mechanical issues.
• Strong communication and self-motivation; able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform preventive maintenance on critical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues across store operations.
• Operate and monitor building controls and systems; manage alarms.
• Document maintenance activities and mentor junior technicians.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and property managers; manage parts orders.
