Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician within the Support Operations Division - Facilities: Clinical Prop Management. The role involves performing facility and equipment maintenance in a hospital setting, with CMMS documentation and on-call rotation every seven weeks.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical and patient care equipment, reading blueprints, conducting preventive maintenance, and responding promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2–4 years of experience in equipment maintenance.
• Driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Performs facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with codes; documents in CMMS.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment (motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, etc.).
• Maintain patient care equipment (beds, wheelchairs, carts, tables).
• Service mechanical/electrical systems (HVAC, piping, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
• General maintenance: grounds, carpentry, painting, snow removal.
• Respond to emergencies and repairs as directed or per emergency plans.
• Respond to occupant requests and perform zone maintenance rounding.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and safety checks.
• Inspect and repair fire doors, hardware, firewalls, and smoke partitions.
• Read blueprints and manuals for tasks.
