Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to oversee maintenance across multiple sites. You will document work in CMMS, perform mechanical and electrical repairs, and respond to emergencies as needed.

The role requires basic maintenance skills, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work a 40-hour week with an on-call rotation. Travel between sites is possible in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Driver's License required.
• Less than 2 years’ experience in equipment maintenance.
• Basic computer skills such as CMMS, building automation system, Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Performs facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Documents through use of the CMMS.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, and controls under guidance.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair patient care equipment such as beds, wheelchairs, carts, and tables as needed.
• Maintain mechanical/electric systems including HVAC, refrigerators/freezers, plumbing, and electrical systems with standard procedures.
• Assist with grounds maintenance, carpentry, painting, and snow removal as needed.
• Respond to emergencies including leaks, floods, power outages, and equipment failures as directed.
• Communicate with building occupants and perform routine maintenance rounds; track corrective actions and service requests.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
