Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Supervisor to ensure facility equipment operates efficiently and to identify areas for process improvements. The role involves supervising maintenance staff, managing PMs, and ensuring safety and compliance.

You will diagnose mechanical/electrical problems, troubleshoot PLCs, read blueprints, and coordinate with Production on budgets and parts. Strong technical background and leadership are required.

Qualifications

• High school and/or GED is preferred.
• Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background is preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record are required.
• Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment to be eligible for employment.
• Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment including wiring, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing.
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel is preferred.
• Maintenance administration experience including planning, scheduling, budgeting, parts and vendor management.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective action.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform basic welding to repair facilities and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
• Follow blueprints and engineering specs using a scheduled plan.
• Manage equipment maintenance and non-standard hour repairs.
• Oversee safety and regulatory compliance in maintenance.
• Train and develop maintenance staff and oversee budgeting for department.
