Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Supervisor to ensure facility equipment runs efficiently and identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and staff training. The role emphasizes supervision, preventive maintenance, and safety compliance in a Monday–Friday framework with potential overtime.

You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, troubleshoot PLC systems, and work with the Production Manager to manage budgets and capital expenditures.

Qualifications

• High school and/or GED is preferred.
• Two-year technical degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel is preferred.
• Maintenance knowledge assessment must be passed to be eligible for employment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills is required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective action using blueprints, schematics, repair manuals and parts catalogs.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facility and production assets and manage scheduling.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and associated control systems.
• Oversee safety within the maintenance department and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Respond to after-hours maintenance needs and manage after-hours work when necessary.
• Train and develop maintenance staff and manage vendor relationships.
