Job summary

Bowery Residents' Committee in New York, NY is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor responsible for supervising maintenance staff and coordinating repairs across the interior and exterior of the facility. You will support the Facility Manager with preventative maintenance, safety drills, and contractor oversight.

The role requires five years of building maintenance experience, supervisory ability, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Five years' experience in building maintenance; trades experience helpful.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to use independent discretion and judgment.
• Certificate of fitness for Fire Safety Director preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned maintenance staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior of facility.
• Oversee Maintenance Workers and perform repairs when needed (carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical).
• Assist Facility Manager with preventative maintenance of boiler/domestic hot water system; inspect elevators, sprinkler systems, fire alarm system, and extinguishers.
• Arrange for and oversee outside contractors as directed.
• Ensure delivery of fuel; receive and store deliveries of maintenance/office supplies.
• Be a member of the fire safety team; participate in fire drills.
• On call for emergencies; may require early and/or late hours.
