Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Facilities Technician to perform preventive maintenance, monitor building systems and support fire protection and infrastructure tasks. You will work on boilers, air handlers, pumps and related equipment with a focus on reliability and safety.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 2–4 years of related maintenance experience. On-call duties and weekend shifts are possible, with benefits and paid time off included.

Qualifications

• Good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Intermediate computer skills using CMMS, Microsoft Office and Building Automation Systems.

Responsibilities

• Conducts preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on basic facility systems and documents tasks through the computerized maintenance system.
• Assists in evaluating and troubleshooting basic building system failures and performs repairs as directed.
• Operates and monitors and maintains basic Utility System Infrastructure.
• Assist in maintaining fire alarm and fire protection systems.
• Supports the installation of building hardware, electrical devices, and wall finishes under supervision.
• Maintains preventive maintenance records and equipment repair files for compliance.
• Reads blueprints, Life Safety drawings and maintenance manuals to gain knowledge needed to complete assignments.
