Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to perform facility and equipment maintenance across hospital operations. The role requires troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems, including patient care equipment, HVAC, and building infrastructure.

Must hold a driver’s license and have basic CMMS skills. The position offers a 40-hour work week with standard benefits and opportunities for on-call and shift premiums.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in equipment maintenance.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Driver's license required.
• Basic CMMS and building automation system knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Performs facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with codes and standards.
• Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs mechanical equipment (motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, etc.).
• Maintains and repairs patient care equipment (beds, wheelchairs, carts, tables).
• Maintains mechanical/electrical systems (HVAC, refrigerators/freezers, electrical, plumbing, gas systems).
• Performs routine general maintenance in grounds, carpentry, painting, snow removal.
• Responds to emergencies (leaks, floods, power outages, equipment failures).
• Responds to occupants' requests; performs zone maintenance rounding and updates on corrective actions.
• Conducts preventive maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
• Reads blueprints and manuals to complete assignments.
• Reads and follows maintenance protocols and safety guidelines.
