Job summary

FirstService Residential seeks an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the physical plant across properties. You will supervise staff, coordinate preventive and reactive maintenance, and ensure safe, compliant operations.

The role covers carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting and general repairs, with on-call duties and the ability to lead teams through complex tasks. Strong leadership and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising maintenance staff and coordinating work orders.
• Strong knowledge of building systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and general repairs.
• Ability to plan, monitor and evaluate preventive maintenance programs and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, trains and directs maintenance staff through work orders.
• Plans, monitors, and appraises job results; coaches, counsels and disciplines employees.
• Assesses repair needs and estimates repair time; determines when specialist help is needed.
• Monitors service and repair contractors; manages maintenance inventories and supplies.
• Maintains disaster preparedness and incident response plans; completes repair reports.
• On-call for emergencies; schedules and assigns work to meet shifts.
