Job summary

FirstService Residential in Miami is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor responsible for the physical plant, overseeing repairs, and preventive maintenance across carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, and related trades.

You will supervise maintenance staff, plan and evaluate tasks, ensure safety, and coordinate with contractors. A high school diploma and 3–5 years of building trades experience are required; HVAC licenses preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• HVAC/licensing may be required.
• Strong maintenance skills in HVAC, painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electricity.
• 3–5 years general experience in building trades.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Email).
• Valid Florida drivers license.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and secure environment across buildings.
• Supervises maintenance staff and directs work orders.
• Plans, monitors, and evaluates job results; coaches staff.
• Assesses repair needs and timelines; determines need for contractors.
• Monitors service and repair contractors.
• Maintains inventories of maintenance supplies.
• Upholds disaster preparedness and response plans.
• Completes repair reports and work orders.
• On-call for emergencies and projects.
• Schedules and assigns tasks to meet shift requirements.
• Maintains preventive/reactive maintenance schedules.
• Trains employees in maintenance tasks.
• Follows safety procedures.
