Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Maintenance Staff Member to ensure that all building systems and common areas are properly maintained and disinfected. The role involves routine floor and roof checks, safe operation, and prompt handling of work orders to keep facilities functional.

The position offers full-time hours, with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2 years general experience in building trades, repair and maintenance.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Multiple language fluency is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Walk floors and roofs to identify problems and report to supervisors.
• Follow safety precautions and maintain safe work environment.
• Maintain relationships with building staff.
• Paint and touch up common areas as needed; inspect areas needing paint and advise manager.
• Complete daily work orders as scheduled.
• Maintain assigned equipment in good working condition.
• Perform casual labor including lifting heavy items per safety procedures.
• Handle minor maintenance and repairs across carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, flooring and other building areas.
• Comply with safety procedures and keep work areas safe.
