Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to own the physical plant, overseeing carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, and other repairs. The role covers preventive maintenance per company guidelines and requires on-site work with standard business hours and on-call duties.

You will supervise maintenance staff, coordinate with contractors, manage inventories, and document work orders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• HVAC and/or related trade licenses/certifications may be required.
• Three to five years general experience in building trades or maintenance.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel) and email.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment throughout the building(s).
• Supervise, train, and direct maintenance staff through work orders.
• Plan, monitor, and appraise job results; coach and discipline staff as needed.
• Assess repair needs and estimate time required for repairs.
• Monitor service contractors and building repair contractors.
• Inventory and procure maintenance supplies.
• Maintain disaster preparedness with response plans and crisis management.
• Complete repair work orders and on-call emergencies.
• Schedule and assign work to meet shift requirements.
