Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Maintenance Staff Member to ensure mechanical systems and equipment operate properly and to keep common areas clean and disinfected. The role requires performing routine maintenance across carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and painting tasks.

You will follow safety procedures, complete daily work orders, and maintain positive relations with building staff while aiding in general upkeep and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• 2 years general experience in building trades, repair and replacement maintenance or handy work.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Routinely walks floors including roof checking for problems and lights out, reports to supervisors.
• Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing work.
• Maintains working relationship with building staff.
• Painting of all common areas and touch up may be required; inspect areas needing paint and advise manager.
• Completes daily work orders as scheduled.
• Maintains assigned equipment in good condition.
• Performs minor maintenance in carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, flooring and other building repairs.
• Follows safety procedures and maintains a safe work environment.
• Performs maintenance and repairs where permit is not required.
