Job summary

Fort Worth Independent School District seeks a Foreperson – General Building Maintenance to lead on-site maintenance for the General Building Maintenance Unit. You will supervise staff, coordinate with principals, and ensure facilities are in excellent condition.

The role requires strong knowledge of building trades, supervision, and safety practices, with the ability to manage contractors, schedule work, and monitor quality and costs.

Qualifications

• Accredited High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver's License and insurability.
• Experience in building construction and custodial/maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site maintenance and repair services for the General Building Maintenance Unit.
• Assign work to staff and contractors; oversee completion.
• Initiate contracts when district staff cannot perform work.
• Schedule and prioritize work orders; monitor quality and costs.
• Instruct and train staff on equipment operation and safety.
• Inspect facilities, equipment, and contractor work for compliance.
