Job summary

Fort Worth Independent School District seeks an experienced Director II – Maintenance to lead district facilities efforts. You will direct and manage maintenance operations, ensuring safe and functional school plants while managing budgets and ensuring compliance with policies and laws.

You will develop procedures, oversee procurement, supervise staff, and coordinate with campuses and leadership to maintain reliable infrastructure that supports education and safe learning environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university preferred.
• 7-10 years' experience in maintenance.
• Accredited High School diploma or GED required; Texas Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that area facilities are functional, safe, and well maintained.
• Develops and maintains written departmental procedures for maintenance, repair, and operations of all assigned District buildings and equipment; ensures work orders are processed and executed in a timely manner.
• Prepares plans and specifications for contracted repair work and site improvement, for submission to Purchasing department for bids.
• Ensures compliance with federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
• Compiles, maintains, and files all reports, records, and other documents required including timekeeping records.
