Job summary

New York State Center for Recruitment & Public Service is seeking Maintenance Helpers to perform custodial and facilities maintenance under supervision. You may assist in carpentry, electrical, painting and other trades, using trade tools with specific instructions.

Responsibilities include grounds keeping, cleaning, and occasional operation of vehicles and equipment. Overtime and occasional travel may be required; a valid NY driver's license is required and security clearances may apply.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Physically able to perform moderate to heavy labor.
• Must possess a valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle in New York.
• Background clearance as required by NGB standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial and facilities maintenance tasks.
• Assist with carpentry, mechanical, electrical, painting and related trades as directed.
• Maintain grounds, clean common areas, offices and restrooms, and move furniture.
• Operate tools and equipment of the trade under supervision and instruction.
• Work long hours in various weather conditions; overtime and travel may be required.
