Job summary

New York State Center for Recruitment & Public Service is seeking Maintenance Assistants to perform semi-skilled maintenance across carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and grounds tasks. The role supports facility operations and may require supervision of others, occasional travel, and overtime.

Applicants should have two years in maintenance or related work, a valid NY driver’s license, and the ability to read and write in English.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Must be able to operate and maintain tools, machinery and equipment required for craft.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine semi-skilled maintenance and repair of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry and other facility services and equipment.
• Maintains grounds and cleans common areas, offices and restrooms.
• May supervise subordinates to accomplish tasks and duties.
• Periodic travel and overtime may be required.
