Job summary

New York State Center for Recruitment & Public Service is seeking Maintenance Helpers to perform custodial and facilities maintenance tasks under supervision. You may assist with carpentry, mechanical, electrical, motor equipment, or painting activities using trade tools under specific instructions.

Occasional vehicle operation and outdoor work are required, with heavy physical effort during duties. Responsibilities include general grounds care, facilities cleaning, painting, and equipment

Qualifications

• Physically able to perform moderate to heavy labor.
• Able to read and write in English.
• Must possess a valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle in NY.
• Work at heights and with tools/machinery as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform general grounds maintenance: mowing, pruning, cleaning grounds.
• Perform general facilities maintenance: clean areas, paint, move furniture.
• Maintain automotive equipment and machinery.
• Assist with maintenance for Nonmilitary Use Program when applicable.
• Occasionally operate computers for timesheets and work orders.
• Overtime and travel may be required.
• Other duties as assigned.
