Central States Health & Life Co. is seeking a full-time Building Engineer to maintain the home office property and grounds.

The role involves operating and repairing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, and coordinating with vendors for sprinkler and snow removal tasks for safe, comfortable facilities. This position requires a high school diploma, mechanical aptitude, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with plumbing, HVAC, building mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Strong attention to detail and planning abilities for prioritizing requests.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Mechanical aptitude with hand tools and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, operate, troubleshoot, repair, and update building systems and equipment.
• Perform HVAC checks, water leaks, climate control, and alarm checks.
• Work with vendors on snow removal, sprinkler repair, and plumbing projects.
• Adjust heating/cooling and sprinkler systems to ensure comfort and efficiency.
• Set up and maintain maintenance logs and prepare reports.
• Ensure safety and proper lighting; replace bulbs/ballasts as needed.
