Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking an F&A Manager within the Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) M&A practice. The role focuses on the full spectrum of finance and accounting operations during transactions, from pre-deal diligence to Day-1 planning and post-deal implementation, with exposure to C-suite and boards.

We value 5+ years of M&A/finance experience, strong leadership, and ability to manage cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing and executing finance or accounting operations.
• Strong leadership and executive communication skills.
• Experience in M&A accounting, financial diligence, internal controls/audit, FP&A, and controllership.
• Prior work with private equity clients preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required.

Responsibilities

• Support Day-1 readiness across all F&A sub-functions.
• Map Chart of Accounts and policy alignment; establish close and reporting calendars.
• Coordinate all aspects of finance and accounting integration (Revenue, AR, Expenditures, AP, Month-end close).
• Own the integration plan and lead a cross-functional team to execute it.
• Engage with client teams and ensure deliverables are on time.
• Assist in executing business initiatives during integration/transition.
• Analyze target company historical data to identify trends for diligence.
• Collaborate with Target to obtain financial, tax, and operational information.
• Establish rapport with client leadership and be a proactive team player.
• Design interim and future-state operating model for the Finance function.
• Manage project updates and cross-functional communications.
