Job summary

VSP Vision in Cupertino, CA is seeking an Eyewear Sales Associate to help patients find eyeglasses and contact lenses that best match their needs while delivering the highest level of care.

You will assist with frame and lens selection, take measurements, dispense eyewear, handle pricing and delivery estimates, support insurance processing, and maintain displays. A positive attitude and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• One to two years of experience in a related field.
• Applicable State licensure or certification by a nationally recognized optician association as an optician.
• Working knowledge of MS Office package.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective verbal communication skills to prioritize multiple tasks and to be available for incoming calls and inquiries.
• Effective written communication skills to clearly document customer situations and prepare letters to confirm agreements.
• Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
• Ability to ask appropriate and relevant questions to identify customer needs.
• Proven problem-solving, negotiating, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Determine the reason for the patient’s visit and recommend eyewear per prescription.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to attract and retain customers.
• Assist customers in selecting frames and coordinate frames with measurements and prescriptions.
• Suggest lenses, coatings, and frames to suit needs and features.
• Take measurements and dispense eyewear.
• Provide accurate pricing and realistic delivery quotes.
• Communicate enthusiastically to meet patient expectations and foster team relationships.
• Clean and merchandise displays daily.
• Assist with insurance billing and processing orders.
• Document patient communications in practice software.
• Work on special projects as assigned.
