Job summary

VSP Vision is seeking a patient-focused eyewear specialist to assist customers in selecting eyeglasses and contact lenses that best match prescriptions and personal needs.

You will provide high-quality service, help with frame selection, lens options, and coatings, and ensure accurate measurements and timely delivery quotes while maintaining organized patient records and supporting insurance billing processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in a related field (one to two years)
• State licensure or certification as an optician if required by state law
• Working knowledge of MS Office
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong verbal communication to handle inquiries and prioritize tasks
• Clear written communication to document patient interactions
• Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills
• Ability to assess customer eyewear needs and answer questions

Responsibilities

• Help customers find eyeglasses and contact lenses matching prescriptions
• Deliver high levels of customer service to foster retention and satisfaction
• Assist customers with frame selection and align measurements with prescriptions
• Recommend lenses, coatings, and frames based on needs and lifestyle
• Take measurements, assist with adjustments, and dispense eyewear
• Provide accurate pricing and delivery quotes
• Maintain enthusiastic and concise communication with patients and team
• Clean and merchandise displays daily
• Assist with insurance processing and billing
• Document patient communications in the practice software
• Contribute to special projects and other duties as assigned
