Job summary

VSP Vision is seeking an optician to help customers find eyeglasses and contact lenses that best meet their needs. You will assist with frame selection, measurements, dispensing eyewear, and coordinating with prescriptions from the optometrist.

You will provide excellent service, maintain accurate patient records, and support insurance billing while ensuring timely delivery and satisfying patient experiences. This onsite role emphasizes teamwork and professionalism.

Qualifications

• At least 1–2 years of experience in a related field.
• Applicable state licensure or certification may be required as an optician.
• Working knowledge of MS Office package.
• Able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication to document and assist customers.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting frames and coordinate frames with optical measurements and prescriptions.
• Recommend lenses, coatings, and frames to suit customer needs and occupations.
• Take measurements, assist with adjustments, and dispense eyewear.
• Ensure correct pricing and realistic delivery quotes.
• Provide enthusiastic, concise communication to meet patient expectations and foster team relationships.
• Maintain clean, merchandised displays and assist with insurance billing and order processing.
• Document patient communications in practice software and participate in special projects.
