Job summary

VSP Vision is seeking a customer-focused optician to help patients select eyewear that best matches their prescription and lifestyle. The role emphasizes quality care, precise measurements, and accurate billing within an on-site retail environment.

The candidate will work closely with teammates to deliver exceptional service, assist with the selection and fitting of frames, lenses, and coatings, and ensure timely delivery while maintaining patient records and supporting insurance processes.

Qualifications

• Experience: one to two years in a related field.
• If required by State: licensure or certification as an optician.
• Working knowledge of MS Office package.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication to document customer interactions.

Responsibilities

• Help customers find eyewear that matches their needs and prescription.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to attract and retain customers.
• Assist with selection of frames and coordinate with optical measurements and prescription.
• Recommend lenses, coatings, and frames based on customer needs and occupation.
• Take measurements and dispense eyewear; provide adjustments and troubleshooting.
• Provide accurate pricing and delivery quotes.
• Document all patient communication in the practice software system.
• Assist with insurance billing and processing orders.
• Attend to special projects as assigned.
