Job summary

VSP Vision is seeking a customer-focused role to help patients find eyeglasses and contact lenses that best match their needs while delivering high levels of care and quality. You’ll guide eyewear choices, measure accurately, and coordinate with prescriptions to ensure patient satisfaction.

The position emphasizes fast-paced, team-oriented service, insurance processing, and clear patient documentation in our practice software. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus and VSP Vision offers benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in eyewear retail or similar setting.
• State licensure if required by state (optician).
• Proficient with MS Office and practice software.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
• Strong written communication for documenting patient interactions.
• Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building abilities.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Determine the reason for the patient’s visit and recommend eyewear per prescription.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to attract and retain customers.
• Assist customers in selecting frames and coordinate with measurements and prescriptions.
• Recommend lenses, coatings, and frames to suit needs and features.
• Take measurements, assist with adjustments and dispensing eyewear.
• Ensure correct pricing and realistic delivery quotes to patients.
• Provide enthusiastic communication to meet patient expectations and support team.
• Clean and merchandise displays daily and maintain presentation.
• Assist with insurance billing and processing orders.
• Document patient communication in the practice software system.
• Work on special projects and other duties as assigned.
