Job summary

Qualifications

• One to two years of experience in related field.
• If required by state: applicable state licensure or certification by a nationally recognized optician association as an optician.
• Working knowledge of MS Office package.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective verbal communication to prioritize tasks and handle inquiries.
• Effective written communication to document customer situations clearly.
• Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
• Ability to ask appropriate questions to identify customer needs.
• Proven problem-solving, negotiating and decision-making skills.
• Ability to exercise discretion and judgment in guidelines.
• Ability to listen, process transactions, and assist customers in a fast-paced setting.
• For remote or hybrid roles, engage effectively in virtual environments with camera presence.

Responsibilities

• Determine the reason for the patient’s visit and deliver recommendations per optometrist prescription.
• Attract and retain customers by delivering exceptional customer service and promoting patient satisfaction.
• Assist customers in selecting frames and coordinate measurements with prescriptions.
• Recommend lenses, coatings, and frames to suit needs and features.
• Take measurements, assist with adjustments, and dispense eyewear.
• Ensure correct pricing and realistic delivery time quotes.
• Provide enthusiastic, concise communication to exceed patient expectations and support team relations.
• Clean and merchandise display daily.
• Assist with insurance billing and processing orders.
• Document patient communication in the practice software system.
• Work on special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
