Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optician in Lima, OH to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in selecting frames and lenses, ensure proper fit, document prescriptions in the EHR/ALE, and deliver accurate lens dispensing with a focus on quality and satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, ABO/NCLE is a plus, and strong communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience as an Optician preferred.
• HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills; sales experience a plus.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers exceptional patient experience by explaining products and services.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments.
• Take and interpret prescriptions; enter into EHR and ALE.
• Receive patient handoff from technicians or doctors and build rapport.
• Ensure proper frame fit and lens dispensing.
• Update patients on order status; resolve issues; escalate when needed.
• Educate patients on eyewear care, warranties, and care plans.
• Maintain knowledge of insurance benefits and coverage.
• Inspect final products; ensure quality and cleanliness.
• Communicate with technicians and managers about orders.
