Job summary

AEG Vision in Lima, OH is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will help patients select frames and lenses that fit prescription, lifestyle, and style, ensuring accurate measurements and proper fit.

Work with optometrists and technicians, handle insurance details, enter prescriptions into EHR, and deliver a smooth, patient-focused experience. ABO/NCLE is preferred; one year of experience recommended; strong communication and computer skills

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• ABO/NCLE certification preferred but not required.
• At least 1 year of optician experience preferred.
• HIPAA compliance knowledge preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient with customized recommendations.
• Assist patients in frame and lens selection based on lifestyle and prescription.
• Explain insurance coverage, copays, and warranties to patients.
• Input prescriptions into EHR/ALE accurately and maintain charts.
• Coordinate with technicians and doctors to ensure timely order status.
• Keep knowledge of products, rebates, lenses, and frame options up to date.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the practice.
• Respond to patient calls and resolve order issues, escalating when needed.
