Job summary

Physicians Eyecare Group is seeking a compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our Albuquerque eyecare center, delivering comprehensive eye exams and integrative optometric care within a multidisciplinary team.

You will hold an active NM NP license, possess a DEA, and have at least 2 years of NP experience (ophthalmology or integrative medicine preferred), with responsibilities including co-management of surgeries and use of ophthalmic diagnostic equipment.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted NP license issued by the New Mexico Board of Nursing.
• Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one in New Mexico.
• MSN or Doctor of Nursing Practice from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years NP experience; ophthalmology or integrative medicine preferred.
• Strong proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and clinical documentation.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient education skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye exams including visual acuity testing, refraction, and anterior/posterior segment evaluations.
• Co-manage pre- and post-operative care for cataract, LASIK, and other procedures.
• Order diagnostic imaging and ocular testing (e.g., OCT, visual fields, fundus photography).
• Refer patients to ophthalmologists or specialists when needed.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the EHR system.
