Job summary

Physicians Eyecare Group seeks a compassionate Certified Nurse Practitioner to join our eyecare center in New Mexico. You will perform comprehensive eye exams, manage ocular conditions, and co-manage surgical care in a multidisciplinary team, leveraging integrative optometric practices and modern technology.

Requirements include an active NM NP license, MSN/DNP, and 2+ years' NP experience in eye care or primary care.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted NP license in NM
• Current DEA registration or eligibility in NM
• MSN or DNP from accredited program
• Minimum 2 years NP experience; ophthalmology/eye care preferred
• Strong proficiency with EHR/EMR systems
• Excellent interpersonal and patient education skills

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye exams including acuity testing and refraction
• Diagnose and manage common ocular conditions (dry eye, conjunctivitis, glaucoma co-management)
• Co-manage pre/post-operative care for cataract, LASIK, and other procedures
• Order imaging and ocular testing (OCT, visual fields)
• Refer to ophthalmologists when needed
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the EHR system
• Mentor and collaborate with clinic staff
• Stay updated with evidence-based optometry and nursing practices
