Job summary

Physicians Eyecare Group in New Mexico seeks a compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our eye care team. You will perform comprehensive eye exams, provide integrative optometric services, and co-manage pre- and post-operative care in a surgical setting.

This on-site role requires an active NM NP license, DEA registration, and 2+ years of NP experience in ophthalmology or primary care. EHR proficiency and strong patient education skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Active NM NP license.
• Current DEA registration or eligibility.
• MSN or DNP from an accredited program.
• Minimum 2 years NP experience; ophthalmology/primary care preferred.
• Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and clinical documentation.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient education skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye exams including visual acuity testing and refraction.
• Diagnose and manage ocular conditions and co-manage pre/post-operative care.
• Order diagnostic imaging and ocular testing (e.g., OCT, visual fields).
• Refer to ophthalmologists when needed and coordinate care with specialists.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the EHR system.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a surgical/eye care setting.
