Job summary

Comprehensive EyeCare Partners is seeking a Surgery Coordinator to oversee scheduling of all surgical and pre-operative appointments, including coordination with optometrists. You will counsel patients on perioperative care, review bookings, insurance, and signed consent forms, and transfer details to the surgical facility.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and computer skills to support high-volume scheduling in a fast-paced ophthalmology environment.

Qualifications

• One year experience in a surgical specialty practice, ophthalmology preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organization with attention to detail.
• Demonstrates computer literacy.
• Capable of meeting high volume of patient scheduling.
• Good attitude, professionalism, promote team cohesion.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all patient surgical and pre-operative appointments, including those with the patient’s optometrist.
• Counsel patients regarding all aspects of surgery including eye drop instructions, day-of-surgery instructions, and post-operative instructions.
• Collects all pertinent information for upcoming surgery, such as bookings, insurance, H&Ps, and signed consent forms, and transfers to surgical facility.
• Runs accurate calculations as required, e.g. LASIK and other calculations as indicated.
• Answer all telephone inquiries from patients and Shared Care doctors concerning surgery and/or related concerns.
• Assist in the daily functions of the operating room for surgical cases.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
