Job summary

MyEyeDr. in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry with patient prep, preliminary testing, and measurements. No optical experience? Training and tools provided to learn the industry and deliver a best-class vision care experience.

You will document patient history, help maintain appointment flow, and ensure patients are comfortable with procedures. Some weekend/evening shifts may be required. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Personable and patient, able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about the industry, products and services.
• Collaborative team player delivering the best patient experience.
• Healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prep for Optometrist exam.
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and staff during appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures they will encounter.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform visual screenings before the doctor visit.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team to provide a seamless patient experience.
