Job summary

MyEyeDr. in Texas seeks an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry with preliminary testing and patient prep for visits. Training is provided to learn pretest equipment and conduct visual screenings.

You will document medical history, help manage patient flow, and ensure comfort during procedures. Weekend or evening shifts may be required. No optical experience needed, just a customer‑focused mindset and willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required with basic math ability.
• Personable, patient, and able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail-oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about the industry, product, and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on the best patient experience.
• Healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document conditions and medical history for exam prep.
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to Doctor and staff.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with procedures.
• Learn to use pretest equipment for visual screenings.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients.
• Collaborate with doctors and team for seamless patient experience.
