Job summary

MyEyeDr. seeks an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by preparing patients for exams, performing preliminary tests, and documenting medical history. Training will be provided; weekend/evening shifts may be required.

You will assist with pretest equipment, visual screenings, and patient comfort during visits, while collaborating with the doctor and staff to ensure a smooth, high-quality patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Personable and patient with the ability to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about the industry, products and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on delivering the best patient experience.
• Healthcare/optical background preferred but not required, training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document medical history and prep for Optometrist exam.
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and staff during appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures during visits.
• Learn to use pretest equipment for visual screenings prior to seeing the doctor.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to provide a seamless patient experience.
