AEG Vision in Humble, TX is seeking an Optometric Technician to support our optometrists and deliver high-quality patient care. You will perform pre-exam tasks, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage the appointment schedule to ensure efficient visits.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, strong attention to detail, proficient PC skills, and excellent communication. Experience with medical records and HIPAA is a plus; duties include record keeping, scheduling, and patient

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure.
• Proficient PC skills and basic software knowledge.
• Strong teamwork and professional communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-exam tasks and support the Optometrist with testing.
• Conduct patient interviews to identify medical issues for the doctor.
• Schedule referrals and handle related paperwork when needed.
• Maintain patient records per HIPAA and company policies.
• Assist with diagnostic testing using specialty equipment.
• Document findings in Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Manage appointment confirmations and recalls to optimize scheduling.
• Assist with contact lens training and inventory/orders.
• Handle end-of-day wrap-up and maintain clean work areas.
• Greet patients and provide education on procedures and medications.
• May act as a scribe or assist with refractions as needed.
