Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists with patient care and education, ensuring high-quality experiences from intake through post-exam tasks. You will perform pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage the doctor’s appointment schedule.

You will document findings in EHR, respond to patient inquiries, and help with clerical duties while maintaining HIPAA compliance and professional communication with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing medications.
• Familiarity with eye treatment terms and HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certification in CPO, CPOA or CPOT is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing and manage doctor schedules.
• Document medical findings in EHR and support clerical duties.
• Handle patient inquiries and coordinate referrals as needed.
• Maintain clean, organized practice areas and assist with scribe duties if required.
