AEG Vision seeks an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists in delivering high‑quality patient care. You will conduct pre‑testing, assist with specialty diagnostics, and help manage the doctor’s schedule for an efficient, patient‑centered experience.

You will perform tests, document findings in EHR, and coordinate referrals while maintaining HIPAA compliance and accurate records. This role is on-site with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsabilités

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, auto reflector, visual acuity, etc.
• Performs verbal interview with patient prior to visit with Optometrist to determine medical issues and reasons for their visit to provide details to Optometrist.
• May be required to schedule referral appointments with Ophthalmologists, Diagnostic follow‑up visits, and other specialty referrals, and complete paperwork.
• Records and maintain patient records / files in compliance with company, federal, and state policies (HIPAA).
• Responds to patient telephone inquiries regarding medication, treatment, problems referring to the Optometrist as necessary.
