Job summary

AEG is hiring an Optometric Technician to support doctors, perform pre-exam evaluations, and assist with diagnostic testing. You will help manage patient flow, update electronic records, and respond to patient inquiries to ensure high-quality care.

The role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to privacy policies in a fast-paced eye-care environment. On-site, part-time opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams.
• Goes with HIPAA and medical term familiarity.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations prior to exam by the Optometrist (dilation, topicals, etc.).
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Schedule referral appointments and manage the doctor’s calendar.
• Maintain patient records in EHR in compliance with HIPAA.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatments.
• Document findings and communications in the EHR system.
• Support clerical duties related to medical documentation.
