Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support optometrists with patient care and education, ensuring a high-quality experience from check-in through post-exam. You will conduct preliminary evaluations, assist with diagnostic tests, and help manage appointment flow in a fast-paced eye care practice.

Responsibilities include documenting findings in EHR, scheduling referrals, and performing end-of-day tasks. Strong knowledge of eye care terminology and state policies is essential.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient PC skills including MS Office and Windows.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-testing procedures and assist with specialty diagnostic testing.
• Support post-exam tasks and manage the doctor’s appointment schedule.
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatments.
• May perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Assist with clerical duties related to medical documentation.
